PAUL JACOB CHUNICK With sadness we announce the passing of our dad and dido on February 24, 2003 in the St. Pauls Nursing Home, Dauphin, MB at the age of 94 years. Dad was predeceased by his wife Winnie on September 18, 1972; brothers, Peter, Adam, Michael; and a sister Mary. He leaves to cherish many fond memories his children, Eugene (Jeanine) of Winnipeg, MB, Hazel Dotchison of Toronto, ON, Violet McCullough of Winnipeg, MB, David (Ann) of Saskatoon, SK, Yaroslaw of Dauphin, MB and Pat (Fred) Valen of East St. Paul, MB. There are 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brothers, Alex of Vancouver, BC, Sotor of Winnipeg, MB; and sister Helen (Steve) Zenzeluk of Regina, SK. There are numerous nieces and nephews. Paul was born in Pine River, MB where he was raised and received his education. He farmed in the area until retiring to Pine River. In 1999 Paul moved to reside in Parkview Lodge Seniors Residence in Dauphin. For the past two months, Paul had become a resident of St. Pauls Home in Dauphin. Prayers will be offered Friday, February 28, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Chapel, Dauphin, MB. Funeral service will be served by Rev. Fr. Michael Lomaszkiewicz on Saturday, March 1, 2003 at 2:30 p.m. in the Holy Cross Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Pine River, MB, with interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery in the Vimy Ridge District. Pallbearers will be Pauls grandchildren, Terry Chunick, Warren Chunick, Darlene Dandeneau, Sheryl-Lynn Friesen, Charlene Peck and Jason Valen. All of Pauls friends are to consider themselves honorary pallbearers. Should friends so desire, contributions in memory of Paul may be made to the Heart and Stroke Association of Manitoba, 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. The Sneath-Strilchuk Funeral Service, Dauphin, MB are in care of the funeral arrangements. Telephone 1-204-638-4110.
