ELAINE JEAN CLAIR (nee LOGAN) Aged 64, of Dartmouth, passed away February 21, 2003, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in St. Boniface, MB, she was a daughter of the late William and Jessie (McIvor) Logan. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Elaine was educated in Manitoba, working for DND following graduation. After marriage, she took on the full-time job of wife, mother, and grandmother. While her children grew, Elaine was an avid camper who loved the outdoors. She was, in previous years, a generous supporter of the Canadian Amateur Swimming Association. She was also a member of the Shearwater Yacht Club since 1980. Elaine also had a great passion for the many pets in her lifetime. She is survived by her husband Major (retired) William (Bill) Clair; sons, Doug (Angela), Wolfville and Ted, Dartmouth; daughter Leslie (Rob) Neate, Dartmouth; and grandsons, Kyle and Ryan Clair, Jeremy and Joshua Clair, and Robbie and Willie Neate. She was predeceased by her sisters, Grace, Manitoba and Pat, California. Cremation has taken place. Visitation was held 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday, February 23 at the J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, Dartmouth. A celebration of life service was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 24, also at the J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, with Rev. Pat Malin officiating. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
