JOHN STEFFES It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful death of John, on Tuesday, February 25, 2003 at 6:50 a.m., at the Seven Oaks General Hospital at the age of 85 years. Remaining to forever cherish Johns memory are his wife Clara of 62 years of marriage; daughter Clara-Mae Howard (Stan) son Anthony; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Tony Hrynyk (Lisa) and their daughters, Samantha and Kara, Brian Hrynyk, Clarice Woloshyn (Jeff) and their son Mark, Randy Steffes (Jill), Trevor Steffes (Elaine) and their son Christopher; one sister Lillian Ilchena, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by two sons, Ronnie and Clifford and brother Lawrence. John, although reluctant to express feelings openly was fiercely proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He and Clara lived at Sunrise Towers on Henderson Highway. John will be remembered for his fundraising and organizing of events for various groups including the Knights of Columbus in Beausejour, MB where he lived most of his life, and the Seniors Social Club at Webb Place in Winnipeg. Johns funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1 at 11:00 a.m. in Augustine United Church, 444 River Ave. at Osborne Street, Winnipeg, MB. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Johns memory may be made to the Oak Table at Augustine United Church, 444 River Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0C6.
