JESSIE THERESA BAKEMAN (nee BORRELL) March 30, 1915 - February 26, 2003 Peacefully on Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at the Concordia Hospital, Jessie Bakeman passed away in her 88th year. Jessie is survived by her daughter, Margot (Donald) Addis; son, Larry Bakeman; grandchildren, George, Keith (Cathy) Addis, Kimberley-Anne (Ken) Ricard, Mike (Shannon) Bakeman; great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Matthew and Jennifer Ricard, Stefanie, Ashten (A.J.) and Emilee Bakeman; daughter-in-law, Darlene Bakeman, all of Winnipeg. Sister, Pauline Pedersen (North Burnaby, BC) and brother, William Burylo (San Diego, CA) and many nieces, nephews and friends. Jessie was predeceased by her husband, George Clayton (1957), her parents, Andrew and Sophie Burylo and her brother, Edward Burylo. Jessie worked many years at Eatons Downtown (Notions Department), Blue Cross, Manitoba, Health Services and the Finance Department in the Legislative Building, retiring in 1980. She volunteered twice a week with M.S.O.S. for 20 years. She also enjoyed her bowling with the Riverside Homemakers on Wednesdays at Rossmere Lanes. Jessie loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she was extremely proud. Special thanks to Dr. Abdulrheman, Anna, Christine, Georgette, Karen, David and Jose on 3 East at Concordia Hospital for their special care and caring. Pallbearers, Kimberley-Anne Ricard, Mike Bakeman, George Addis, Keith Addis, Ken Ricard and Donald Addis. Prayers will be on Sunday, March 2 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Church, 341 Munroe at Brazier, with Deacon Frank officiating. Funeral service will be held Monday, March 3 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Alphonsus Church, with Fr. Pierre officiating. Reception to follow at the Church Hall. Interment at St. Marys Cemetery on Osborne Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8, or a charity of your choice.
