ERNEST GESKE Peacefully on Feb-ruary 27, 2003 at the Riverview Health Centre at the age of 83 years. Ernie is lovingly survived by his wife Myrtle; and his children, Allan (Patricia), Elaine, Bruce (Cheryl) and David (Edie) nine grandchildren, Jody, Kyle, Carrie, Colleen, Jesse, Aaron, Garrett, Christopher, Jordon; and one great-grandchild Julian; sister-in-law Laura Geske of Vancouver; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Andreas and Helena Geske; brothers and sisters, Lydia, Charles, Martha, Ralph and Alex. Ernie was involved for most of his life working in the hotel industry. He was a life-long member of the Lutheran Church of the Cross and took a great deal of interest in the affairs of the church, serving many years on the church board. Ernie was also a member of Millennium Masonic Lodge 182 AF&AM. He enjoyed many summers at his cottage at Ponemah with family and close friends. He took great interest in tending to his garden and flowers, His greatest love was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 4 at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 560 Arlington St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
