Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARGARET ISABEL (HEATLEY) WEDLAKE February 12, 1921 - February 26, 2003 On February 26, 2003, at Calvary Place with Kristin sitting on the edge of the bed playing her guitar and leading a roomful of family and staff in hymns of praise, Margaret Wedlake slipped peacefully into the presence of her Lord whom she loved and served with all her heart. Margaret was born in Winnipeg, February 12, 1921 and attended Centennial School in West Kildonan (Grades 1 to 10). A brief marriage produced a daughter who became the joy of her life. She worked for many years as a sales clerk in Eatons china department, and for a few years in a fabric store, but her "happiest 10 years" were working with Home Care in Lions Manor, from which she retired at age 65. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Doris Heatley; her brother William (Bill) in 1989 and sister Jean Grulkey in 1993. She is survived by her daughter Marilyn; sister-in-law Marie Heatley; niece Evelyn Pischke of Steep Rock; nephew William Grulkey of Vancouver, as well as extended family Joan (Gordon, Daniel and Jaclyn) Lemky and Rev. Alan (Gloria, Jesse, Nicholas and Sarah) Duncalfe and many, many loving friends. A long-time member of Calvary Temple, her delight was attending as many services as possible and working with children as a Sunday School teacher, Crusader leader and in various positions at Calvary Temple Youth Camp. She was an altar worker and loved to tell people about Jesus. The last three years of her life were spent in Calvary Place Personal Care Home. Words cannot adequately express the heartfelt thanks to all of the staff, but particularly to the exceptional staff of 3 South for their loving and compassionate "Christ-like" care. Funeral Service will be held in the main sanctuary of Calvary Temple at 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 3 with interment to follow at Glen Edens Garden of the Old Rugged Cross. Rev. H.H. Barber, her pastor whom she dearly loved, officiating. A viewing will be held one hour prior to service. Flowers are gratefully declined. Friends who desire may direct donations in her memory either to Calvary Place or Calvary Temple Youth Camp. Honorary pallbearers will be, Ken Miller and Reverends Bruce Brand, Walter Reinheimer, William Michalski, Bruce Logan and Henry Schulz. Active pallbearers will be Rev. Alan Duncalfe, Gordon Lemky, Keith Hall, Andre Peters, Steven Alder and Richard Chomiak. Arrangements entrusted to: VOYAGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORIUM 220 HESPLER AVE. AT HENDERSON HWY. 668-3151
