MIKE MAKSYMCHAK Peacefully after a brief illness Mike Maksymchak, aged 76 years, beloved husband of Victoria, passed away at the Concordia Hospital on Thursday, February 27, 2003. Mike was born on November 10, 1926 in the Selo of Berezka Povit Lisko in Poland, and immigrated to Canada in 1958. He worked at various jobs throughout his life when coming to Canada. In 1979, he and his wife Victoria opened and operated Gourmet Pizza. In 1989, Mike sold his business and retired where he could spend more time looking after this dear wife Victoria whose health was failing. Mike loved his family very much and unselfishly looked after their needs. He loved them unconditionally. He also enjoyed spending many a time at the cottage in Whitesands. There they made many friends with whom they continued to have long lasting friendships, one of them being the Hubick family. Besides his beloved wife Victoria he leaves to cherish his memory his four children, Donna Estabrooks, husband Ken; Tony, wife Lynn; Christina Turski, husband Doug; and Irene Willey, husband Dave; 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Maria Maksymchak; and one brother Antoni. Panakhyda will be sung on Monday, March 3 at 7:00 p.m. at the Holy Eucharist U.C. church at the corner of Watt Street and Munroe Avenue. Divine liturgy will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 4 at 10:00 a.m., also at the church. Rev. Fr. D. Kawiuk officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to everyone who helped us through this difficult time. Special thank you to Mike and Fenia Madeychyk and family for all their support.
