IAN CHARLES O'CONNOR Peacefully on February 28, 2003 at Riverview Health Centre, Ian Charles OConnor passed away at the age of 89 years. Left to cherish his memory are sons, Pat (Mary-Ann) and Frank; grandchildren, Lorraine-Marie (Jason), Anndrea (Brad), Tim, Jill (Matt), Katie, Megan, Michael, Jamie and Patrick; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Charlie was predeceased by his beloved wife Evelyn and his sister Moira. Charlie was the son of Patrick OConnor of Northern Ireland and Mary Cameron of Scotland. Charlies parents came to Canada in the early 1900s and he was born in Winnipeg on April 15, 1913. He spoke often of his happy childhood memories with his parents and sister Moira. Charlie met his beloved Evelyn as a teenager on Home Street where they both lived. The love they shared was so powerful that when Evies family moved to Toronto, Charlie followed and they were married there on July 5, 1937. Their family was expanded upon the birth of their twin sons. Charlie was a very proud father, he spend many happy hours fishing and boating with his family. Charlies working years were diversified. He started with Crescent Creamery, moved to Winnipeg Coin, and retired from the CPR Express. His retirement years found him travelling to visit his sons and their families, singing in the church choir, and taping old movies, always with his childhood sweetheart Evie by his side. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 4 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory Church, 254 Arnold Ave. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of their choice. The family gratefully acknowledges the staff of Misericordia Hospital (Cornish 2) and Riverview Health Centre (CD4) for their gentle and loving care. Bless you Mom and Dad, you are now together again. THOMSON FUNERAL CHAPELS 783-7211
