ALCIDE HOGUE 1911-2003 On Friday, February 28, 2003 at the Victoria General Hospital, Alcide Hogue died at the age of 91 years (just 2 weeks shy of his 92nd birthday) with family by his side. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving daughter, Gisele (Ron), grandchildren, Richard (Annette), David (Bonnie) and Robert (Rejeanne) great grandchildren, Ashley, Brendin and Justin; brothers, Philippe, George (Dorothy), Denis (Gerta) and Victor (Sylvia) sisters, Mary and Germaine (Bert) sisters-in-law, Tina and Jeanne Perreault. He was predeceased by his wife, Aurore; brothers, Fred, Edward, Tom and Ulysse; sister, Alice. Having been raised on the farm Dad was truly a man of the prairies. He worked at Brett Young Seeds for 35 years. A favourite pastime of his was driving through the country looking at the crops, especially at harvest time. His passion for farming led him to many enjoyable hours spent outdoors. He had an amazing memory for names, places and dates. We will cherish the countless memories, his humour and wit. A storyteller, he had an appropriate tale to relate for almost any occasion. Dad lived a long and healthy life and was able to enjoy many happy and fun times with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of whom he was very proud. Dad was the best father a daughter could have. He was always supportive, good natured and loving. He enjoyed and respected his son-in-law. We admired his honesty, his integrity and his total commitment to his work and family. He will be missed dearly. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, March 4 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Norbert Catholic Church with Fr. Antoine Vo Van Hoa presiding. Viewing will take place at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Green Acres Memorial Garden. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to his Home Care caregivers, Olivia, Linda, Blanka, Lia, Annette and Steve for their many years of dedicated service, and to the staff on the third floor at the Victoria General Hospital for their kindness and care. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dads memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lung Association. GREEN ACRES FUNERAL CHAPEL 222-3241
