Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARLIES LYDIA SPLETZER Born at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg on June 8, 1967 On February 28, 2003, Marlies Spletzer passed away to be with her Saviour, Jesus Christ. Marlies had a great sense of humour and will be very much missed by all of us. She spent all of her school years in special schools, Ellen Douglas being one of them. She went on to Grant Park High School where she graduated from a Life Skills program. This program helped her live on her own for a number of years in one of Uncle Martins apartment blocks. In 1997, it became evident that she needed more care than we could give her, so she found the nursing home that she wanted to live in. We tried to convince her to move closer to North Kildonan where most of her friends, church and family lived. However stubborn as she was, she chose West Park Manor in Charleswood where she spent five years. She loved living there. In spring of 2002, she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, and from then on, she spent a fair amount of time at Grace Hospital. At the end of January, she was transferred to the St. Adolphe Nursing Home where they were able to supply her with the oxygen she needed. She received very good care in St. Adolphe Nursing Home. Everyone opened their hearts to her very quickly as she had the kind of character that was open to everyone. As well, she never complained until she was in such severe pain that she could not stand it anymore. Marlies has fought the good fight, she has finished the race and is now walking straight and standing tall with her personal Saviour, Lord Jesus. She was predeceased by all four grandparents, as well as a brother Marky, who passed away in infancy. Her parents (Reinhard and Lydia) survived her; as well as her siblings, Roland, Angela (fiance Brian Hargreaves), and Darren (wife Lisa-Jane). Marlies is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins who were as close as brothers and sisters. Memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 4, 2:00 p.m. at Rowandale Baptist Church, 162 Rowandale Ave., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to St. Adolphe Personal Care Home, 420 Main St, Winnipeg, MB R5A 1A1. KLASSEN FUNERAL CHAPEL 1897 Henderson Hwy., 338-0331
