JACOB H. THIESSEN September 9, 1910 - February 28, 2003 On Friday February 28, 2003 at the Salem Home, Winkler, Jacob H. Thiessen, aged 92, of Winkler, passed peacefully in his sleep. He married Helen Toews in 1937. Jacob farmed in the Lowe Farm area all his life. In 1965, Jacob and Helen moved to Lowe Farm, and in 1978 they retired from farming. On July 30, 1980 Helen passed away. In October of 1981 Jacob married Tina, and in 1997 they left Lowe Farm and moved to Winkler. After spending his final five months in Salem Home, he went to his eternal rest. He leaves behind his wife Tina, two sons, Dan and wife Helen of Lowe Farm, and their family Monica, Rhonda and husband Craig Shewchuk, Stefan; Grant and wife Jan of Winnipeg, and their family Christina, Ryan and wife Sharon; great-grandson Callum; step son Ron and wife Susan Wiens of Morden, and their family Kim and husband Andy Friesen, great-grandchildren, Matthew and Travis. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 3, 2:00 p.m. at the Kronsweide Sommerfeld Church, Rev. Dick Penner officiating. Interment will follow at the Kronsweide Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salem Foundation Inc. Wiebe Funeral Home Winkler in care of arrangements. 325-4201.
