MARIE JEANETTE J. FRANSOO (LANOUETTE) Peacefully in her sleep, Aunt Jeannie went into the arms of her angels on Sunday, March 2, 2003 surrounded by her loved ones. She was predeceased by her loving husband Maurice, of 53 years; brothers, Marcel in 1932, Gerard (Lanny) in June 1991; sister Cecile (Cissy) in January 1998; twin brother Adrien (Bido) in August, 1988. Left to cherish her memory is her brother Marcel (Musky) and Bernice Lanouette of Winnipeg, many nephews and nieces, many grandnephews and grandnieces, as well as brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, and very dear friends, and especially Sr. Cecile Richard for her special visits and prayers. Jeannie was born on June 28, 1928, in Bruxelles, MB, to Leo and Rebecca Lanouette. Jeannie received her schooling at the Bruxelles Convent and worked in the family store. She taught school for one year south of Swan Lake. She then married Maurice Fransoo on October 26, 1948. They resided in Bruxelles for a short period of time till they moved to St. Boniface where they took in boarders. Jeannie loved her boarders like her own children and have remained lifelong friends. They then moved to Windsor Park where they resided until they retired and divided their time between their cottage at Twin Lakes Beach and trailer in Arizona. Jeannie will be most remembered for her loving and generous nature, her homemade bread, cinnamon buns and her beautiful handiwork. Prayers will be offered by Jeannies long-time friend Fr. Gilbert Gariepy on Wednesday, March 5 at 7:00 p.m. in P. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 156 Marion St. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Cross Church at Dubuc and Traverse on Thursday, March 6 at 11:00 a.m. A reception to follow in the church hall. Cremation to follow later. Pallbearers will be Paul Lanouette, Leo Lanouette, Timothy Lanouette, Dain Lanouette, Michael Lanouette and Ron Fransoo. In lieu of flowers donations will be greatly appreciated to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
