KARL HUTTER Peacefully on Friday, February 28, 2003 at Deer Lodge Centre, Karl Hutter, beloved father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 104 years. Karl was born December 24, 1898 in the town of Graz, Austria, and immigrated to the United States originally settling in Paducah, KY. The family later moved to Canada taking up a homestead outside the town of Waldhof, ON, and Karl moved to Winnipeg on his own while working for the CP Railway. Karl was predeceased by his first wife Marion (1947), father Paul (1956), mother Sophie (1970), second wife Violet (1988), grandson Brent Gratton (1995), and brother Augustus in 2000. Also, sister Hilda passed away in Paducah, when she was one year old. Karl will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his son Dennis, grandsons, Rodney (Visa), Ronald (Linda) and Robert (Audrey and Tayler) great-grandchildren, Alora, Tristen, and Myles, step daughter Mary (Roger Gratton) grandson Kelly Gratton (Jennifer) and great-grandchildren, Travis and Chantel of Thompson. He also leaves to mourn his close friend Bernice Baldwin of Warren, MB. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Deer Lodge Centre for their dedicated care and warmth that Dad received during his residence. Funeral service 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 5 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook St. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Karl, may be made to the Deer Lodge Centre, 2109 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3J 0L3.
