They eventually settled in Windsor Park, where they raised their two children. Edna trained as a legal secretary and worked for the City of Winnipeg Legal Department from 1956 until her retirement in 1979. Edna was a feisty woman who was extremely self-reliant. She was proud of both of her son and daughter and all her grandchildren. She supported and helped them in their endeavours. If friends so desire, contributions can be made to a charity of their choice. The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of 5A and especially 5E at St. Boniface General Hospital for their gentle care and support. The family would also like to thank her "home care ladies" who assisted Edna for the last few years. As Edna liked to say when offering a toast: "Heres tae us. Whos like us? Damn few."
