Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCOREY GABRIEL COURCHENE June 30, 1969 - March 2, 2003 It is with much sadness that the family of Corey of Sagkeeng First Nation announce his sudden passing on March 2, 2003. Corey was predeceased by his big grannie (Mom) Christina and his grandfather Gabe Courchene. He is survived by his son Matthew (Brenda), his mother Doreen Linklater (Frank), his grandmother Sarah Hayden of Toronto; his sister Leanne Courchene; his brothers Scottie Linklater and Justin Linklater, many aunts, uncles and cousins, too numerous to mention. Corey lived all his life in Fort Alexander, of which, he liked sports, his friends and enjoyed his pride and joy, his son, Matty (fofurres). Corey was a truck driver and gained employment with the Norway House Treatment Program in Winnipeg. Thanks to the many friends and relatives who called, your kindness and gratefulness is much appreciated. Corey is in Peace with the Creator and his journey has begun to the Spirit world. We all love him as a son, brother, nephew, cousin and he was a very good father to his son. No words can take the place of his laughter, his smiles and his sense of humour and the love he showed his mom and his siblings. He will be greatly missed and his heartful ways, cherished. Funeral services will be held at the St. Alexander Roman Catholic Church, Friday, March 7 at 2:00 p.m., with Father Cloutier officiating. Pallbearers are Terry Guimond, Trevor Courchene, Desiree Gilbert, Manny Guimond, Scott, Linklater, Justin Linklater, Garry Swampy and Wilfred Bunn Jr. Honourary Pallbearers are Kevin Courchene, Darren Courchene, Trevis Hayden, Darren Guimond, Dwayne Swampy (Punky), Leonard Guimond, Vince Courchene, Merv Courchene, Claude Spence and B. J. Harry. Funeral services provided by Russell Funeral in Beausejour by Harvey and Uncle Jimmy. Feast to be held after services.
