LORNE EDWARD CAMPBELL It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lorne E. Campbell on March 3, 2003 at the Charleswood Care Center. Lorne was born in Austin, MB on November 29, 1921, the son of Lorne and Elizabeth Campbell. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Jim, and his sister Loreen McConnell. His memory will be treasured and fondly remembered by his children, Lauren (Jack) Dent and Graham Campbell of Winnipeg; his former wife Marion; and cherished grandchildren, Melissa and John Dent. Also surviving are his sisters, Josephine Clark, Myrtle Larkin; and brother Donald Campbell; and numerous nieces and nephews. Some of Lornes most endearing qualities and characteristics were best described in Stuart McLeans best seller "Welcome Home". Lorne always enjoyed the company of his friends and provided unconditional love to his family. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at the Charleswood Care Center who showed remarkable caring and compassion to Dad for many years as well as making his final days peaceful and dignified. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 8 at 1:30 p.m. in the Austin United Church. A reception to follow in the church hall.

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • My sincerest sympathy to the family Telly always had great respect and memories practicing with Lorne. The family should be proud of Lorne's accomplishments in the practice of law and the community. He was a kind and gentle human being. We were blessed to have known him. May you all be blessed with wonderful memories of him. I am presently on holidays and will be returning to Winnipeg late in the afternoon and will have missed the service, but I will check to see if it is not to late to see the family. Again my sincerest condolences. - Posted by: Nancy Mercury (friend. my husband A.J (Telly) Mercury practiced law with Lorne) on: Jan 25, 2014
