VALERIE DOEPKER (nee SMITH) Val Doepker, aged 50 years, passed away peacefully at the Pine Falls Hospital, on Tuesday, March 4, 2003 with her loving husband Ron at her side. Her memory will be cherished by her children, Trevor and Kerri-Lynn and stepchildren, Dawn (Keith), Tonya (Danny) and Jeff (Suzanne) seven grand-children; her sister Shirley (Bob) McQuat and their daughter Kim (Joe) her brother Glenn (Alice) Smith; her aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends; numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and their families. Val was predeceased by her parents, John and Katherine Smith; and her nephew Bobby. Val enjoyed baking and reading. She loved going to the lake, spending time with friends and family and tending to her gardens there. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8 at 2:00 p.m. in the Pine Falls United Church, Pine Falls, MB. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Van Rooyen, doctors and nursing staff at the Pine Falls Hospital for the excellent care and compassion they showed Val during her stays there. We would also like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at CancerCare Manitoba including Dr. Sutherland, Dr. Kerr and Dr. Maksymiuk.
