ANNABELLE GRACE THOMAS After a lengthy illness and courageous battle with cancer, peacefully on March 4, 2003 and surrounded by her family and friends, Annabelle Grace Thomas of Winnipeg, formerly of Peguis First Nation passed away at the age of 59 years. Annabelle leaves to mourn her sons, David Thomas (Sonia), Doug Thomas (Tracy) their father Gordon Thomas; and her grandchildren, Jordan, Cheyenne and Isaiah. Her brothers, Clifford (Rachel), Vernon (Dora), Gordon (Virginia), Arnold (Val) her sisters, Dora Favel, Shirley (Ray) Babichuk, Florence (Frank) Chartrand, Annie Larocque; her stepbrothers and stepsisters; brothers-in-law, Morris McPherson, Roy Staples and sister-in-law Brenda Cook; numerous nieces and nephews, special friends and all other relatives. Annabelle was predeceased by her parents, Pearl and Godwin Cook; sisters, Gladys, Milly and brother Harvey. Annabelle worked at the Health Sciences Centre for over 30 years as an LPN, taking care of many who later showed that same loving care for her in her own illness. She had a home that was open to everyone, and lived her life to the fullest. She will always be loved and remembered by her family and friends. The family would like to extend special thanks to her friends, doctors, nursing staff at the St. Boniface Palliative Care, friends at CancerCare, the Peguis Chief and Council for all their love, care and support shown to our mom. Funeral will be on Friday, March 7 at the Peguis Church, officiated by Pastor Glen Cochrane; viewing at 1:00 p.m., service will start at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at the St. Matthews Anglican Church Cemetery.
