MICHAEL JAMIE FLORKO-THOMAS Accidentally, on Thursday, March 6, 2003 Michael Jamie Florko-Thomas, aged 20 years, was sadly taken from us. He leaves to mourn his parents, Sheldene and Nelson Thomas; biological father Bradley Hourie; sister Keri (Tony) brother Leif; stepbrothers, Kenneth and Ricky Thomas; dear friend Sandie Bento; grandparents, Frank Florko, Wallace and Shirley Hourie, Joan Hourie and Isabel Thomas. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Michael was predeceased by his Baba Nettie Florko; and grandparents, Calvin and Ida Webb. Michael was a dedicated hockey player, winning the 1998-99 City Championships. He enjoyed the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, but above all he enjoyed time spent with family and friends. Most recently he enjoyed living with his uncle Reg in Grand Marais. Prayers will be held on Monday, March 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 11 at 1:00 p.m., also in the chapel. His pallbearers will be Doug Florko, Carl King, Ernie Thomas, Peter Osterbeck, Ryan Cowan and Eldon Atkinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Reg Thomas, Pierre Godin, Jay Bartel, Pricilla Roberts, Steve Pederson, James Gegenfurtner and Carlos Bento. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to a trust fund set up for Michaels unborn son at any Cambrian Credit Union for baby Florko-Thomas.
