Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLOUIS MARTIN LAVALLEE Suddenly on March 6, 2003, at his home, Louis peacefully passed away at the age of 80. Louis is survived by his wife Evelyn (nee Jacobsen) sons, Allan (Virginia), Brian, Warren (Karen), Marcel and Keith; grandchildren, Tyson (Nicole), Rene (Karen), Marc, Curtis, Travis, Kyle, Bailey, and Callie; sister Lillian Yanciw; brothers, Roy (Lorna), Gordon (Eileen), Ronald (Charlotte) sisters-in-law, Carol and Alice; along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his infant daughter Myrna; parents, Alfred and Rose; brothers, Arthur, Kenneth and Albert; brother-in-law Peter Yanciw; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Rita; mother-in-law Blenda Jacobsen; and nephew Darrin. Louis was born April 5, 1922 at Suffren, MB, the eldest son of Alfred and Rose. He attended Lalonde and Cook Schools while growing up on the family farm. He joined the Army during the Second World War and served overseas from 1944 to 1946. Upon returning, he worked at various jobs, including mining and road construction. Louis and Evelyn were married in 1952 and spent 42 years on the family farm at Lillesve, until his retirement when they moved to Lundar. Louis had many interests including hunting, baseball, hockey and visiting with his friends at the local coffee shop. Louis had a wonderful sense of humour and was always ready with a sly remark. He enjoyed life and the most important part of that life was his family. He will be sorely missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, at the Lundar Legion Hall, with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Service will conclude at the hall, with burial at a later date.
