Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM F. NORTH Mr. William North, aged 90 years, of Elma, MB, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2003 at the Beausejour Health Centre. "Uncle Bill" was born in Elma on June 20, 1912 to Mano and Aino North. He was predeceased by his parents; four brothers, Alex, Marten, Ted and Charlie; and two sisters, Martha and Gertie. Uncle Bill is survived by his younger sister Bertha of Squamish, BC. He leaves many nieces and nephews to cherish his memory. Uncle Bill worked for the Department of Natural Resources in Falcon Lake, Hadashville and Whitemouth until his retirement in 1977. He was then called upon to be a part-time fire ranger until 1985, and had still been an honorary fire guardian until his passing. Uncle Bill spent many years trapping in southeastern Manitoba. The highlight of which came in the fall of 1987 when he discovered that he had somehow managed to catch two lovely ladies at this cabin on Moss Lake. Uncle Bill spent the remainder of this year, feeding and watching his birds. He was always on the watch for wildlife, and had been an active member of Ducks Unlimited since 1946. He enjoyed his trips for coffee and lunch to catch up on the news and any trips or rides you would take him on in the area. The highlight of Uncle Bills life were his adopted grandchildren, Mark and Jackie, Karen and Vince and Tami. The jewels were the great-grandchildren, his little girlfriend Ainsley and little man Nicholas. We will miss your kindness and generosity, Uncle Bill. You are forever in our hearts. Thank you to Dr. Fred Zeiler and the staff at the Beausejour Health Centre for their care and compassion. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15, at 1:00 p.m. at Sobering Funeral Chapel, Park Ave. E. Beausejour, MB.
