MARIA do ROSARIO FORMIGA Maria do Rosario Formiga peacefully passed away with family by her side on Friday, March 7, 2003 at the age 91 in St. Josephs Residence. Maria was born on January 9, 1912, in Portugal and came to Canada in 1995 to live with her daughter Porfiria Governo. Having lived a full life, she leaves behind many family members: the daughter she was living with; two sons, Antonio Formiga and wife Cristina (in France) and Manuel Formiga and wife Laura (in Portugal) a sister, Gertrudes da Conceicao Orfao; as well, grandchildren Paulo and Sandra, Anabela and Luis (in France), and Suzanne (in Portugal) several great-grandchildren and nieces. She was predeceased by her husband, Olimpio and a seven year old daughter. She will always be remembered as an excellent Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, and Aunt. We will never forget the wonderful memories shared with her. We will all miss her fiery spirit, her timeless wisdom, and her big strong heart. May her soul be at peace. Prayers will be at 8:15 p.m. Sunday, March 9 at St. Peters Church, 748 Keewatin St. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 11 also at St. Peters Church. Monsignor Maurice Comeault will be officiating for both. Interment will be at Assumption Cemetery.
