ROBERT CHARLES STEUART A
Date of Passing: Mar 07, 2003
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT CHARLES STEUART A mans life span is not measured by the days on the calendar, but what he does with it. On March 7, 2003, at the Health Science Centre, Robert Charles Steuart, aged 58, beloved husband of Patricia, passed after a brave battle with heart disease. Bob leaves behind daughter Shannon and son Cameron (Sherri) along with brothers-in-law, Jim (Janet) and Jay (Michaela) and nephews, Ben and Rory. Bob was an employee with the Manitoba provincial government for almost 20 years. In his spare time, Bob volunteered hours of his time supporting organized sports. He played all sports, but it will be his tireless dedication to coaching hockey and baseball for which he will be remembered best. For almost 40 years, he was involved in community clubs, Manitoba Junior baseball, triple A hockey and double A hockey. He loved sports and everything about them, and he loved the youngsters who found him a first-rate coach, advisor, and leader. He enjoyed the competition, but the greatest amount of his pride came from seeing his players learn and improve. An avid lover of animals, Bob was a member of various dog clubs over the years and most recently, he was the treasurer of the Red River Terrier Club. He received great joy raising his loyal Scotties. Bob was a devoted husband and father. His witty humour and quiet strength will be missed. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 12, at 12:30 p.m. at the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A reception will follow in the Chapel Lawn Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Suite 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
