FRANKLYN O. M. BARRETT Franklyn O.M. Barrett died peacefully, at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, on Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at age 68. Frank was born in Curling, NF in 1935 and was a son of Gertrude Barrett and the late Frank L. Barrett of Waterloo. He was the beloved husband of Annaliese (Wiebe) loving father of Richard (Sue Williams), Roland (Brenda) and Christopher (Leanne Canty) and stepfather to Karl, Anna and Herman. His brothers, Harry and Roland, 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren also survive him. At the time of his death, Buddy, as he was affectionately known by close family members, resided in Winnipeg with Annaliese, his wife of 43 years, and Anna Schmidt, stepdaughter. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force for 30 years. Frank and Annaliese enjoyed driving around and exploring the countryside. Frank was a staunch supporter of anything from Newfoundland, and loved Newfoundland music and Doughies. Recently, he developed a taste for computers, and was working on his family genealogy. He was always quick to lend a hand to family members, and could be counted on whenever the need arose. Buddy will be dearly missed. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service was held on Sunday, March 9. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, Kidney Foundation of Canada or Canadian Diabetes Association.
