GUSTAV SMITH Peacefully on March 7, 2003 after a brief illness, Gus Smith passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. Gus was born on January 6, 1929. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Kay; daughter Jo-Ann (Randy) grandchildren, Shane, Elyse, and Kelly and Grant Copp; by his sisters, Betty Baron and Lydia Smith; his sisters-in-law, Linda (Kenny) Pruden and Audrey McMahon and family; nephew Jason (Charlene) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, father, three sisters and five brothers. Gus worked at the CPR for 35 years retiring in 1986. He spent many years curling with the Elmwood Hardknocks and golfing with many of his pals from the LaSalle. The family wishes to thank the nurses of the Palliative Care Unit at the St. Boniface Hospital and their friends for the flowers and the visits. Memorial service 2:00 p.m. Wednesday March 12 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 708 McCalman Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Interment will take place at a later date.
