HENRY JACKSON ARTHUR 1915 - 2003 In Memory Of Our Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather On March 9, 2003 Henry passed away at Third Crossing Manor, Gladstone with his family by his side. Henry was born at Dewar Lake, SK to Andrew and Frances Arthur on February 1, 1915. He took his schooling in Saskatchewan and graduated from Smiley Collegiate in 1932. Henry came to the Mayfeld District in November 1936 on a freight train. On February 2, 1943, Henry married Sarah Wilson. They just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Henry and Sarah farmed on the family farm in the Mayfeld District until they retired to Gladstone in 1979. Henry was very active in the community, including Gladstone Co-Op, Pine Creek School Division, Gladstone Auction Mart, and Gladco, which sponsored the setting up of Crescent Lodge, Third Crossing Manor, Seven Regions Health Centre, and Centennial Apartments. He participated in the Masons, Palestine O.E.S., Gladstone Guys and Gals, the United Church, and the Gladstone Seniors Club. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Sarah; and their children, Keith (Kathy), and Faye (Gordon) grandchildren, Thomasina (Mark), Deanna, Andrew, and Susan (Roger) and great-grandchildren Emma, Hayden, Duston, Sheldon, and Nicholas. Henry was predeceased by his father and mother; sisters, Valma and Marjorie. He leaves to mourn his passing his brother Walter (Mary) and sisters, Frances Stewart, Grace Scora, and Ruth (Eldon) McLean; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, at 3:00 p.m. in the Gladstone United Church with Rev. Stan McKay and Pastor Randy Fehr officiating. Interment will follow in the Gladstone Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200-6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6, or to the Gladstone Area Seniors Support Program, Box 757, Gladstone, MB R0J 0T0.
