JACQUES (JAKE) GUAY After a lengthy illness with ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease) it is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Jake at St. Boniface Hospital on March 10, 2003. Jake leaves to mourn his wife Debbie (nee Blayden) daughter Jennifer; son Jonathan; parents, Robert and Madeleine (nee Roy) brothers, Jean-Louis (Brenda), Raymond (Joanne), Marcel (Gisele) and sister Ghislaine. Also left to cherish his memory is Jakes mother-in-law Joan (nee Norris) Blayden and Art; sister-in-law Karen (Ed) and brothers-in-law, Dave (Debbie) and Chris (Ilene) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, great nephews and many many wonderful friends. Jake was raised in Powerview, MB, where he spent his childhood years. In 1978 he joined the I.B.E.W. Local 2085 and worked in the electrical field to become a journeyman electrician. In 1992 Jake joined the team of electricians at the Physical plant at the University of Manitoba where he continued to work until 1999. Jake loved life to the fullest. His passions were camping, golfing, hockey, hunting and especially fishing. He was a loving husband and a wonderful father, son and brother. Family would like to give special thanks to the nursing staff, doctors, and HCAs at the St. Boniface Palliative Care. Thanks also to the nurses and HCAs for all your help while Jake was still at home. We would also like to extend our thanks to the ALS Society of Manitoba. Funeral service will be held at St. Timothys Parish, 135 John Forsthy Rd. on Thursday, March 13 at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Gerry Ward will be presiding the service. Jake you could light up a room with your beautiful smile. You are gone but not forgotten. You will be forever in our hearts. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the ALS Society of Manitoba.
