Predeceased by his parents Charlie and Sarah; his wife Josie (nee Dirckx) sister Dorothy Flynn and special friend Ina Sanders. Tom is survived by his sons and their families, Larry (Pat) and granddaughter Jolene; Glenn (Sharon) and grandsons, Nicholas and Steven. He served with distinction in the military for 32 years in the Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineer Corp. retiring in 1972 at the rank of Master Warrant Officer. Tom served in the Second World War and the Korean War. He also served in peacekeeping in Egypt in 1958 - 1959 and in Soest, Germany in 1963 to 1966. A master mechanic, Tom used his talents to build and fix just about anything - a talent that he proudly passed on to his sons. A man known for his quick wit and charm he could always be counted on for a good story or a knee-slapping joke. A lover of camping, Tom, Josie and sons spent many vacations at the family cottage at Lake Malachi and camping in St. Malo. Tom was a member of the Charleswood Legion. Later in life, Tom and Ina spent many good times with friends at the Legion and travelled on those very special bus tours. He will be lovingly missed by all who knew him. Special thanks to the Doctors and staff at Deer Lodge Centre and the Grace General Hospital for all their support and care. Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 14 at 2:00 p.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel.
