Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLIONEL XAVIER LABOSSIERE After a short stay at St. Boniface Hospital, Lionel Labossiere passed away peacefully on March 9, 2003, at the age of 86 years. He leaves to mourn his wife of 60 years, Irene (nee Bourrier) and their six children, Laurette (Don) Loiselle, Maurice (Natalia), Antoinette (Gilles) Vermette, Marcien (Laurette), Antonin (Rita), Georges (Rita) 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; as well as two brothers, Hermas and Aurel; two sisters, Marie Rose and Imelda; also many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a son Luc in July 1960; as well as by brother Walter; and sisters, Gracia, Aurellie, Etiennette and Doralis. Lionel was born in St. Leon in 1916. Since his youth he had a love of horses; he farmed for most of his life. He then worked for the City of Winnipeg from 1970 to 1983. He retired at age 66. He was known as an honest, hardworking man. Lionel was proud in the sense that he liked to do things for himself and didnt want to be a burden to anyone. He will be missed by all. Prayers will be held at 1:30 p.m. followed by Mass of the Resurrection on Wednesday, March 12 in the Notre-Dame-de-Lorette Roman Catholic Church (Lorette, MB). The Mass of the Resurrection will be presided by Fr. Maurice Jeanneau. Interment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date in the Lorette Parish Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff of the St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion.
