GEORGE OANCIA After a courageous battle with cancer, George passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, March 9, 2003 at the age of 71. Predeceased by his parents, Gabriel and Mary of Regina; brothers-in-law, Ed Radu and Clarence Euteneir. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Elsie; daughter Susan and son-in-law Carl Luhning; son Chris; and daughter Beverly, all of Regina. George is also survived by his sisters, Marian Radu, Lorna (John) Adamack, Jane (Egon) Fritzsche of Regina; brothers, Dan (Liz) of Calgary and Bill (Shirley) of Strathmore. Also survived by brother-in-law Wilfred (Mona) Leippi; sisters-in-law, Gertie (Ed) Prince and Wilma Euteneier; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Born and raised near Limerick, SK, George had a long and rewarding 30-plus year career with The Co-ops throughout Western Canada. A heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Palliative Home Care Program for their assistance and support. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2003 at 8:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Ave., Regina, SK. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 13 at 10:00 a.m. in St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 2005 Edgar St., Regina, SK with Rev. John Mancantelli presiding. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park, Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Allan Blair Memorial Cancer Clinic or St. George Orthodox Cathedral.
