Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY NIHKA SEVIER January 20, 1965 - March 9, 2003 It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother, sister and daughter, Mary Nihka Sevier. Mary leaves to cherish her memory, her sons, Brian Southall of Thompson, MB, and baby Tyler; her daughters, Litonya and Shanelle of Fisher River; her mother Phyllis of Portage la Prairie, MB; her father Norman Murdock of Fisher River. She also leaves behind her brothers, David, Louie (Lynn), John (Margaret) and Walter Murdock all from Fisher River, Joseph (Lydia) and Jeffrey Murdock of Winnipeg, and Cornelius of Saskatoon, SK; her sisters, Bertha Murdock of Calgary, AB, Jocelyn Kipling of Kelowna, BC, Edith Sumner of Brandon and Margaret Packulak (Al) of Winnipeg; Mary will also be missed by her adoptive parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sevier of Westbank, BC, her foster parents, Debbie and Douglas Small of Winnipeg; and by her special friends Darryl Sutherland and Gerald Brown; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and her many friends. Mary was predeceased by her sister Doris (1993), her brother Albert (1961), and by her grandmother Caroline Cook (1999). Mary was born in Winnipeg where she lived with her adoptive parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sevier. She got her education in Winnipeg and later on moved to Fisher River where she raised her children. Mary worked for the Fisher River Cree Nation as a Registry Clerk for 14 years. The most important thing to Mary was her children: she was a devoted mother. She loved riding horses and camping. Mary was a "happy go lucky" person; life to her was her children, work and family. She will be deeply missed and always remembered by family and friends. The family would like to give a special thank you to Evelyn and Harold Sutherland as well as Shirley and Miles Harasemiw for standing by Mary in her most troubled days while she was alive. It was deeply appreciated. A wake service will be held on Friday, March 14 at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 15 at 2:00 p.m., with viewing from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Both services will be held at the Fisher River United Church, Fisher River Cree Nation, MB, with Rev. John Halcrow officiating. Interment will follow at the Fisher River Community Cemetery. Arrangements Entrusted To: ANDERSON FAMILY FUNERAL HOME Ashern, Manitoba 1-866-293-4951
