CHARLIE McKAY CAIRNS On Thursday, March 13, 2003, Charlie passed away peacefully after a very brief time in St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care. Born in Islay, AB in 1923, he had lived in Winnipeg since 1950. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his daughter Barbara, son Dick and his wife Mary and their sons, Matt and Charlie, son Ian and his wife Debbie and children, Natia, Jovita and Tyler; and his brother Dr. Alexander (Sandy) Cairns of Vancouver. He was predeceased by his wife Joan, his parents, Chris and Teresa; and his brothers, Andrew and Chris. The family would like to thank Dr. Barbara Cenkowski, Dr. Ralph Wong and Cathy as well as the staff in the Palliative Care Unit for their caring and compassion. At Charlies request, cremation has taken place. There will be no formal service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to CancerCare Manitoba.
