Dad we will miss the time you spent with us, we will always cherish the silent moments and the special talks. Dad always expressed his love for his mother and one can never measure the amount of respect he had for her. There were so many who loved him. Dad was a man who recognized the importance of balance and respect. Our father had a special one-on-one relationship with the Creator but he also recognized and respected the different spiritual paths. He taught each and every one of his children that there is but one Creator. Dad was a kind and gentle man who was loved and respected by many. He was a devoted and loyal friend who loved spending time with friends such as Elmer Maytwayashing, Kenny Paul, Ron Fontaine, Richie Paul and Jordie Missiabit to name a few. There are many people who have been blessed with his kindness, friendship and love. During his life, Dad was known to be a very hard worker and leader as this can be seen in the number of different capacities he held during his lifetime. He served as Supervisor at Canadian Gypsum Co.; Carpenter and taxi driver for Lake Manitoba. Dad was also a committed leader to his community as he served two consecutive terms as Band Councillor at Lake Manitoba. IN THE SPIRIT WORLD A world where time does not exist Neither cold nor hot, nor dark nor light. But I sense a wind blowing softly in this world, Stirred up by the passage of the spirits. We the living, when we see only shadows On the edge of sight. Yet sometimes they Appear to us, clearly, so we can learn. Boozho Kitche Manitou, Grandfathers and Grandmothers, Ki-chi-meegwetch for having pity over my father and teaching him His traditional ways in the Spirit World so that we can continue to learn.
