LAWRENCE ALLAN DANKO February 25, 1944 - March 11, 2003 Surrounded by the spirit of the most incredible friends and family, Larry has gone to begin his next journey. His courageous battle has affected all who knew him, forever. Cancer is so limited - It cannot cripple love. It cannot shatter hope. It cannot corrode faith. It cannot destroy peace. It cannot kill friendship. It cannot suppress memories. It cannot silence courage. It cannot invade the soul. It cannot steal eternal life. It cannot conquer the spirit. Source unknown. He leaves behind Maura, Mom and Dad, Marvin and Rose. He also leaves behind special friends and loving family and he definitely leaves behind a legacy of generosity, charm, humour, creativity, love and hope. We came across a quote in Chicken Soup for the Surviving Soul that we want to share with you, because it so beautifully describes Larrys journey. It says, The past is gone, but Now is Forever. The future does not lie in our hands, but the future lies in the hands of the present. Go out and grasp the seconds of the day as you had only that day to live. Experience and enjoy the moments of your life. We only have one life to live, so live it like a champion. Everyone was put here for a purpose, so let that purpose rise up above and show everyone what youre made of. I am not telling you how you should live, but how you should feel when you look back at the memories of the once-upon life of yours. Dont regret things later. If you feel it is right, do it. Its your life and nobody elses. Make decisions that please you. Let nobody put you down. Dont live in anybodys shadows or dreams. If you do have a dream, act on it and it will probably come true. Yesterdays the past, tomorrows the future, but today is a gift. Thats why its called the present. This became our homes creed. We would like to extend a huge Thank you to all the angels that have cared for Larry over the past two and a half years. You made the darkness brighter. Please come join us for a celebration of Larrys life. The Memorial Service will be held at St. Michaels Ukrainian Catholic Church, 400 Day St. in Transcona, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15 followed by repast. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Larrys memory, to the Guardian Angel Caring Room at CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
