Cyrille was born in Oostkamp, Belgium on March 11, 1925. He served in the Second World War with the Belgium Army. In 1947, he came to Winnipeg where he spent all his remaining life. First working as a painter, he decided to take up carpentry where his work was appreciated by many construction firms as well as family and friends. During the summer months, he enjoyed camping with his family in the Whiteshell. In the winter "Curly" enjoyed watching his children at the local curling and hockey rinks.
