JAROSLAVA JULI It is with great sadness that we announce that on March 11, 2003, we said goodbye to our wife, mother, grandmother and friend Jaroslava Juli. Jaroslava was predeceased by her father in 1981; and her mother in 2002. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband Ervin; daughters, Iveta Muller (Joe Cisar) and Mary Anne Walls; grandson Michael; her two favourite little friends, Daisy and Cisco; and numerous close friends. Jaroslava was born in the Czech Republic where she completed her education in business and economics. In 1969 Jaroslava came to Winnipeg with her husband Ervin, two daughters and two beloved dogs. Here she started her new profession in hospitality for which she was well prepared from childhood in family restaurants. Some of her happiest years in Canada were spent working in Merteens and Tiffanis. In 1989 Jaroslava and Ervin moved to the area of Creston, BC, where they opened Julis Bistro, which soon became well known and had the honour of being listed as one of the 500 best places to eat in Canada. In 1998 they returned to Manitoba and settled in Pinawa. Jaroslava loved her new home town and its people very much. She loved nature and swimming in the Winnipeg River, often being amongst the last few brave swimmers of the season. Her favourite passage from St. Francis of Assisi is: "Our Father who art in Heaven, the whole earth is yours and all that inhabit it. May we never forget in our pride that we are not your only creations. Never cease to remind us that we are bound to love and care for all of your creation even as you love and care for us. Open our eyes and hearts to all that you have made. Let us give voice to those who are speechless and love and praise you in their name." A special thank you to Jaroslava and Ervins community of neighbours who were always eager to lend a helping hand, the staff of Pinawa Hospital for looking after her so well and her physical and spiritual healers, Dr. Petkau, Mrs. Petkau, Dr. Turner, Dr. Ferrari and Dr. Chu. Mother, your body may have been defeated, but your spirit will live on. A private family service has been held. Flowers are gratefully declined. Anyone so wishing may make a donation to their favourite animal charity in Jaroslavas memory. Arrangements are entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD. 982-7550
