PHILLIP ALFRED JUNDT Alfred passed away peacefully in the early morning of March 14, 2003 at the Eriksdale Personal Care Home. Alfred, as he was more commonly known, was born on February 27, 1911 in Winnipeg. In October of 1912 the Jundt family moved to Camper via the railroad and set up a tent on their soon to be homestead at the present site, still known as the Jundt farm. Alfred farmed there until he took ill in 1994 and entered the Eriksdale Personal Care Home. In June of 1955, Alfred married Janet Monteith and together they raised four children. Alfred loved to farm and was definitely a hard worker. He enjoyed seeing how the neighbours crops were progressing and discussing the new trends in agriculture. He was a kind and gentle man with a pleasant disposition and was never one to complain. He liked baseball, hockey and playing crokinole, and time spent with his children and grandchildren. Left to mourn are his loving wife Janet; children, Robert (Carol) of Winnipeg, Bernice (Dwight) Sander of Camper, Holly (Stan) Flinta of Eriksdale, and Garry (Shelly) of Camper; grandchildren, Nicole (Kerry) Yanke, Nigel, Nancy and Phillip Jundt, Brett Sander, Kaitlin and Ryan Flinta; great-grandchild Chase Yanke; brother Otto; brother-in-law John (Giesela) Monteith; mother-in-law Lillian Gray, and nieces and nephews from the Smith and Monteith families, with special mention of David and Sandy who so looked up to their Uncle Alf. He was predeceased by his parents Phillip and Lina; brother Gerhard; sisters, Gerry, Betty Gillespie and Claire Smith; brothers-in-law, Ray Gillespie and Gordon Smith. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 19 at 2:00 p.m. in the Camper Community Hall with Dwight Sander officiating. Interment to follow in the Camper cemetery. Viewing will be held at the hall prior to the service. Pallbearers will be his two sons, Bob and Garry; three grandsons, Nigel, Brett and Phillip and his son-in-law Dwight Sander. Honorary Pallbearer will be his brother Otto. The family want to give a grateful and special thanks to the nurses and all the caregivers at the Eriksdale Personal Care Home - your care and support wont be forgotten. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Eriksdale Personal Care Home, Box 130, Eriksdale, MB R0C 0W0, or to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB.
