ROSE MAYOWSKY CRAIG
Born: Aug 06, 1915
Date of Passing: Feb 26, 2003
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROSE MAYOWSKY CRAIG Sorrowing, I announce the unexpected death of my Mother, Rose Mayowsky Craig, of Angusville, MB, at home, February 26, 2003, at the age of 87 years. Rose was born the fourth of five children on August 6, 1915, on N.W. , Sec. 35-20-26W, in the Municipality of Silver Creek, at 3:00 oclock in the morning as her Fathers handwritten notes indicate, to Jacob and Anastasia (Deydey) Mayowsky. My Mother had returned to high school, completing grades 11 and 12 when I was in grades one and two. She was admitted to the only School of Nursing that would accept a married woman, the Brandon General Hospital, and graduated the three year programme in 1952, following which she took a post-graduate course in Psychiatric nursing, attaining a diploma the following year. She practised her profession for 20 years, five of which were spent in Southern California, then cared for her elderly Mother. Mom did the unheard of in those earlier years when she returned to school after a failed marriage, facing, unfortunately, the censure of that days society. Actually, she was a leader, and of that I am fiercely proud. My Mother was predeceased by her grandparents, Fred and Martha Deydey; her parents, Jacob and Anastasia; her sisters, Olha Mayowsky, Natalka De Vargas; her brother Miroslaw Mayowsky. She is survived by her daughter Patricia Sawadsky (Walter), granddaughter Anastasia, one sister Susan Sander, son James and his three sons, Melnychenko and Barnesky cousins, nephews and niece. Prayers (March 2) and funeral (March 3) took place in Angusville at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Church, officiated by Rev. Fr. Volodymyr Bashutsky. Interment took place at the Lakedale Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Holy Ghost. Those wishing to do so may offer donations to this church in care of Mrs. Paul Sidoryk, Russell, MB or to the Seniors Bus Transportation Services, Russell, MB R0J 1W0. Servant of God, well done! Rest from thy loved employ. The battle fought, the victory won, Enter thy Masters joy. The pains of death are passed, Labour and sorrow cease. Lifes long warfare closed at last, Thy soul is found in peace. Beloved Mother, I thank God for your love and self sacrifice. Vichnaya pamyat. Eternal memory.
