DUNCAN JOSEPH THOMAS Jr. December 13, 1967 - March 14, 2003 Suddenly at the age of 35 years our son, brother, father, uncle and new grandfather to Kassidy Carol went to be with our Creator. He leaves to mourn his mother Thelma who he loved dearly, his father Duncan, his very special uncle Peter whom he loved dearly and grew up with. Also surviving is his sister Holly Thibert (Glenn) brothers, Marcel Thomas (Lorraine), Sam Thomas (Valerie) as well as his three precious children, Shawn Ward (Nikki) and twins Sasha and Shane; and his uncle Phil who he admired greatly; and by numerous aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. Duncan was predeceased by his grandparents, John and Margaret Thomas, Agnes and Jean Baptiste Fontaine. Duncan was a very caring and loving person who loved his children deeply, they meant the world to him especially the new addition to the family, his granddaughter Kassidy Carol. He was very close to his nieces and nephews especially his godson Sly Thibert. His favourite pastime was playing hockey and baseball. He played hockey all of his life, playing with the Pine Falls and Fort Alexander Braves. He enjoyed going to hockey games with his late uncle Walter Fontaine. During his short time on earth he worked with the Sagkeeng Al-Care Center, which he took great pride in. Duncan will be greatly missed by many family and friends. Rest in Peace my son. Wake services will be held at the home of Donavon Fontaine (Jake) in the Fort Alexander Townsite beginning Monday evening. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 20 at 2:00 p.m. from the St. Marguerite Roman Catholic Church, Traverse Bay, MB, with Fr. Laval Cloutier officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers will be Holly Thibert, Sam Thomas, Marcel Thomas, Rob Lergange, Peter Thomas, Shawn Ward, Brian Morin, Todd Fontaine and Keith Simpson.
