ALEXANDER JACKSON KABEL It is with great sorrow that the family of Alexander Jackson Kabel announce his passing at the Grace Hospital on Sunday, March 16, 2003 at the age of 71 years, after an illness that was faced with the same enormous courage he carried throughout his life. Alex was born July 31, 1931 in Ste. Rose Du Lac. He is survived by and will be sorely missed by his loving wife Audrey; sons, Ron (Cindy), Jack (Charmaine), Dale (Laura), Todd (Jodi) and daughter Kim (Nigel) 11 grandchildren, Terri, Kurt, Melissa, Lindsay, Ashley, Brittany, Tyler, Justin, Farron, Mike and Shelby; as well as three sisters, Rose, Shirley and Bernice; three brothers, Ken, Bernie and Frank. He served as a paratrooper with the PPCLI Airborne Division in the Korean War and later became a heavy equipment operator. He lived to be outdoors and hunting was his favourite pastime. In his later years he loved to be in his workshop and as a result he became a self-taught and highly respected small engine repairman. His love was gardening and his greatest passion was watching his grandchildren enjoy his fresh vegetables. His family and friends will forever miss and always remember his loving charismatic personality, his joyous smile, his kindness, his sincerity and unwavering personality. Dad, the time has come and the Lord has taken you into His arms. Your suffering is over but your spirit and unprecedented kindness to others will live on in your children forever and ever Amen. We would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the fourth floor Grace Hospital and also to his good friends Warren Mcpherson and Tom Goodbrand. At Alexs request no service will be held. Cremation in care of Bardal Funeral Home to take place later this week. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association. "The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his names sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." 23 Psalm
