STEPHANIE (MUSYJ) KLIMCHAK Peacefully, in the late hours of Monday, March 17, 2003, surrounded by the love of her family and tranquility of her home, St. Josephs Residence. Stephanie is survived by four children, 15 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren: her son Atanazie (Olga), their daughter Mary (Michael) Gnutel with their sons, Joshua, Stephen and Matthew; their daughter Vera (Andrew) Lorenzen with their sons, Andrew and Brandon; their daughter Nadia; their son Dmetro (Theresa) their son Paul; their daughter Ann (James) Grant with their sons, Devon and Jimmy. Her daughter Isydora (Joseph) Lucki. Her daughter Glikeria (Peter) Iwanuck and children, Theresa (Taras) Balak and Andrew (Charlene). Her daughter Jeroslawa Dobush and children Christine; Monica (Darrel) Champagne with their children, Meaghan and Matthew; Michael (Tammy). Her daughter-in-law Jean and children, Sonya (Mark) Galarnyk; Donna and fiance Darren Nowosad; Peter and Paula. All were special and precious to her. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Anne Musyj and numerous nieces and nephews. Near her always was her godchild and grandniece Mary (Kozakewich) Bilinsky. Stephanie was predeceased by her husband John (February 1970), granddaughter Patricia Lucki (January 1989), son-in-law Walter Dobush (May 1996), and son Michael (January 2002). Born on December 25, 1908 in Hubbard, SK, she (the last surviving member of her family) was the youngest of 10 children of Michael and Anna (Gilmuda) Musyj. Her father (a cobbler) and mother (a mid-wife) together with Mothers five siblings (four had died), came to Canada in 1907 from Chesaniw in Western Ukraine. John and Stephanie married in November 1929, resided and farmed in Ituna, SK. Since our family relocated from Ituna to Transcona in 1942, Mother had been a member of St. Michaels Ukrainian Catholic Parish - enjoying her affiliation with various organizations within the parish but, especially, treasuring the many activities and friendships developed through her membership in the Ukrainian Catholic Womens League of Canada since its inception. A devoted wife and mother, her tenacity and deep faith sustained her through many hardships so that being able to make two trips to the Holy Land and a trip to Ukraine was an extreme luxury and delight for her. These were under the excellent guidance of her former pastor and friend, Fr. Michael Buyachok. An avid gardener - earlier due to necessity, later for sheer enjoyment! Loving to experiment with seed and root - and most successfully! Our sincere gratitude is extended to the devoted past and present administration, staff, clergy, Drs. Gorski and Babick, and volunteers of St. Josephs Residence for your kind and compassionate care over the last eight years. We feel truly blessed that Mother was able to spend her last years in such a loving and cheerful atmosphere. For the many visits from our clergy, fellow-parishioners of St. Michaels Church, St. Josephs Church, members of the UCWLC, the Friendly Settlers, family and friends - all who took time to brighten Mothers life - as she would say - "THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS YOU!" We thank God for the gift of our MAMA, BABCHI AND PRA-BABCHI - a humble and grand lady - Rest in Peace! Vichnaya Pamiat! Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 21 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 22 at St. Michaels Ukrainian Catholic Church, 400 Day St., with Fr. B. Kyba, C.Ss.R. and Fr. A. Wach officiating. Interment will follow in Green Acres Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of choice gratefully accepted. KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 956-2193
