BARNEY VOGEN Barney was born and raised in the Selkirk area and worked at many different occupations throughout his life - commercial fisherman on Lake Winnipeg and construction of bridges, houses and more. He was always a hard worker but he also knew how to have fun. Friends and family were always welcome at his home. Barney was a friend to all. In 1949, Barney and Helen married and they had three children. However, the marriage didnt last. Though they parted ways, they remained on friendly terms. Barney moved to Ontario where he lived in cottage country at Point Clarke. It was here that he met Val and they married in 1980. Barney adopted Vals three children and treated them as his own. Barney was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Betty Kelly; his sister Jean Johnston. Barney leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Val; his children, Wayne, Heather, and Lori, his stepchildren, Rick, Laurie, and Julie; his brothers, Jim (Betty) Vogen and Jack (Gail) Kelly; and special niece Carol (Art) Schoen. Also left to mourn are several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. All who loved him will sadly miss Barney, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
