EARL HAROLD WHITE Suddenly, but peacefully surrounded by family, Earl passed away at Concordia Hospital on March 17, 2003 at the age of 72 years. Holding Earl in their hearts are his sons, Stan and Roger (Kerry) daughters, Brenda Zajaros (Dave) and Kim White-Nichol (Kevin) grandchildren, Melanie and Scott White, Adam White, David Zajaros, Luke and Bryce Nichol and grand dogs Harley and Sandy. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Elva Balch (Joe) and Ethel Shields. Earl was predeceased by his beloved wife Isla; mother and father, Edith and Harold White; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lillian and Jack Shields; sisters-in-laws, Eva McClay and Jessie Kostyk and brother-in-law Jim Shields and family friend Sparky. Earl was born November 20, 1930 in Winnipeg, MB. He married Isla on November 6 and 7, 1953. Shortly thereafter, they purchased a farm in Togo, SK where they homesteaded and raised their four children. While residing in Togo, he was a member of the Elks Lodge, coached hockey, curled, ran for mayor and enjoyed getting into mischief with "the boys". In 1972, Earl and Isla returned to Winnipeg where they continued to raise their family. Earl worked in the Overhead Door business for many years, until his retirement in 1992. Retirement brought Earl new challenges and adventures. Earl was an avid camper, spending many years at the Oasis and Lilac Resort with his family. He also travelled extensively North to South and East to West with his family. Earl also very much enjoyed a good game of crib with his "Monday afternoon buddies". The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Concordia Hospital E.R. Staff, Peggy Malone, Pastor Kathleen Rempel Boschman and Rev. Earl Gould for all their support during this difficult time. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 22 at 11:00 a.m. in Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. No. 1 East at Navin Road. Viewing one half hour prior to service. Interment to follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Childrens Wish Foundation, 350 St. Mary Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3C 3J2 or the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3. When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do, You mustnt tie yourself to me with tears; Be happy that we had so many years. I gave to you my love, You can only guess how much You gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the love you each have shown, But now its time I travelled on alone. So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must; Then let your grief be comforted by trust. Its only for awhile that we must part, So bless the memories within your heart. I wont be far away, for life goes on; So if you need me, call and I will come, Though you cant see me or touch me, Ill be near, And if you listen with your heart, youll hear All of my love around you soft and clear, And then, when you must come this way alone, Ill greet you with a smile and say "Welcome home." GREEN ACRES Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematorium Hwy. #1 E. at Navin, 222-3241
