ROLF FORSENG Peacefully at the Health Science Centre in Winnipeg, after a brief illness on March 18, 2003, Rolf Forseng, aged 82 years, of Ashern, MB. He will be greatly missed by his two daughters, Patsy (Garry) Wahl, and Sandra; grandchildren, Jacqueline (Murray) Varnes, Blaine and great-grandson Tanner, and Tammy. He also leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. He was predeceased by his wife Arnbjorg Fjola (Halldorson in 1990) parents; brothers, William, Frank; and sisters, Edna, Mabel and Alma; and a granddaughter Tracy. Rolf was born July 14, 1920 in Oakview, MB. Dad lived his whole life in the Oakview district on the family farm. He married Bjorg in 1947. Dads whole life was dedicated to his farm and his family. Nothing meant more to him than providing a good home to his wife, girls, and livestock. He was a very hard worker and loved to farm, which showed in the way he kept his farm and machinery in shape. Dad and mom moved to Ashern in 1984 due to health reasons. He cared for Bjorg during her illness. At this time he built a new home and took great pride in his yard and garden. Dad lived life to the fullest, he had an ear for music and loved to dance the night away at the Dolly Bay Hall and Hayland. He also played the mouth organ, guitar and called square dances. In his later years his favourite past time was playing cards, socializing with friends and having coffee with his buddies. Honorary pallbearers will Harvey Kerbrat, Roy Ormiston Sr., Roy Ormiston Jr., Gummi Jonsson, Pete Davidson and Evan Forseng. The family wishes to extend their most heartfelt thanks for all the support of Dads best friend and neighbour Harvey Kerbrat. They spent many hours together having happy hour and doing little chores. We would also like to thank the Doctors, homecare workers and nurses in the Ashern district for all their help over the last few months. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22 at the Ashern Gospel Chapel, with Pastor Bill Watson officiating. Service will conclude at the church with a private family interment to be held at a later date. Flowers are greatfully declined, a donation to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
