ELLEN TROSCHUK (nee BLAHEY) Peacefully, surrounded by her family, Ellen wife of Bill, passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at Seven Oaks Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Wasyl and Felicia Blahey; brothers, Mike, Bill, Fred, Harry, Steve and John; sisters, Anne, Mary, Doris and Nellie. She is survived by her husband Bill of 52 years; son Ken (Ebba) daughters, Carol (Don) Nguyen of Singapore and Sharon (Barry) Miller; sons, Geoff and Don (Michelle). Also to mourn her loss are her beloved grandchildren, Treena, Jennifer, Sarah, Brian, Kyle, Karly and Jeffrey. She is also survived by her sister Katherine Swar of Detroit, Michigan and brother Tom Blahey, as well as many nieces and nephews. Ellen was born in Chatfield, MB on July 16, 1929 and came to Winnipeg in 1946. She spent most of her life raising her family in St. Andrews where she took great pride in her home, yard and gardens. She was happiest spending time at home and in her yard nurturing all living things. Memorable times were spent travelling with the family, especially camping with the grandchildren. Memorial service will be held on Monday, March 24 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Interment will take place at a later date.
