Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHILAIRE "MICKEY" CINQ-MARS Peacefully on March 20, 2003 after a lengthy illness, our dear Mickey passed away. He was born in Otterburne, MB to Alphonse and Rose Alma Cinq-Mars on January 15, 1926. He served three years in the Armed Forces during the Second World War with nearly two full years of overseas on the front lines. He was an active Legion member, serving as President of the Ste. Anne Legion for several years, and later transferring to the Norwood Legion. He was a councillor for the Village of Ste. Anne for a number of years, a member of the Norwood Knights of Columbus, and served four years as a board member with the Columbus Manor Board of Directors. He was predeceased by his parents and his sisters, Margaret Nicolas, Rose Dumont and Georgette Teahan. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 56 years, Merlyn; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mervin and Clair, Bryan and Lydia; four grandchildren, Mervin (Lorie), Jason (Terri), Jamie (Betty), Karen (Ron) six great-grandchildren, Ethan, Claire, Connor, Adam, Brady and Alexa. Also left to cherish his memory are his brothers and sister, Gabe (Yvette), Benny (Yvonne), Paul, Johnny (Dorothy), and Terry (Joe Trudeau) his in-laws, Verna Proulx (Oram), and Bob Easton (Chris) as well as many dear nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Prayers will be held on Monday, March 24, at 7:00 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, at the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 252 Dubuc St. Viewing will be held from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mickeys memory to The Kidney Foundation of Canada (Manitoba Branch), 200 - 55 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 1L8.
