FREDA LEE It is with deep sadness we announce the death of Freda, wife, mother and friend, on March 16, 2003, after losing her battle with cancer. The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful, caring and compassionate people at Riverview Health Centre and at the Riverview Palliative Homecare office - they are very special individuals who made a difficult time so much easier for all of us. Freda will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by her husband of 60 years, Bill; and her two sons and their families, Tony, Sheila and Adrienne of Winnipeg, and Arthur, Janice, and Jennifer of Vancouver. She was born on July 13, 1923 in Huntly, Aberdeenshire, Scotland and immigrated with Bill to Winnipeg, Canada in 1982 to be close to their boys. At Fredas request, a family memorial will take place at a future date. When you stripped away all the complex layers of Fredas personality, there, laid bare for all to see, was an essential courage and a deep humanity. She was a giving person who appreciated and never forgot the kindnesses of others. While she preferred a private lifestyle, she was held in high regard by those closest to her and those who took the time to get to know her. If, by our being, we have had in any way a positive influence on the lives of others or enhanced their sensibilities along the way, then we can fairly say that it was a job well done. Mum - you did your job well! Her granddaughter, Jennifer, said it best of all by assuring Mum that she can rest in peace because she has a strong, beautiful family and has been the best possible model for us to be good people.
