BARBARA POCKETT Peacefully, after a brief illness, on Friday, March 21, 2003 at the Health Sciences Centre, with her family by her side, Barbara Pockett passed away at the age of 87 years. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Wilfred, sisters, Mary and Vickie; and her brother John. Barbara will be lovingly remembered by Sharron (Brian) DuVal of Toronto, Ken (Elaine) Pockett of Vancouver, Clifford (Lorraine) Pockett of Winnipeg; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She will also be remembered by William and Paul Kozak, and Elizabeth Robinson. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 25 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint). A private family interment will be held at a later date in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the exceptional staff at the Maples Personal Care Home for their loving care of Barbara. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Barbara to the Manitoba Artist in Healthcare, 118 Claremont Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 1V9 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 301-352 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3B 2H8.
