MARTHA SEREDNY It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on Friday, March 21, 2003 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Martha was predeceased by her husband Dmytro, her parents, brothers and sisters. She will be lovingly remembered by her family, daughters, Orysia Velychko (Paul), Lesia Lysenko (Alex), Irene Zoochkan (Bill) grandchildren, Leda, Danusha, Daria, Christina, John, Julie; and great-grandson Marcus; extended family and friends. Mom came to Canada after the war and devoted her life to her children and grand-children. The importance of family was her first and foremost priority and she instilled those values to all her children. She was proud of her Ukrainian heritage, passing these traditions on to her family. Mom, we love you and we will miss you. The family would like to extend thanks to Dr. Rubinger and the staff of the GD6, Health Sciences Centre and Dr. Crow and staff of Ward 3E at Riverview Health Centre for their compassionate care and support. Prayers will be held on Sunday, March 23 at 7:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be held on Monday, March 24 at 10:00 a.m. at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. with Rev. Mikhail Kouts officiating. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joseph Dlugosh, Volodymyr Dlugosh, Peter Fedoryshyn, Mikhail Polivko, Alex Lysenko and Bill Zoochkan. Honorary pallbearer will be John Zoochkan Sr. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marthas memory to Plast Ukrainian Youth Association, 623 Flora Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2W 2S4 or to CancerCare Manitoba, 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
