JOSEPH IWASIUK January 24, 1918 - March 22, 2003 Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Joe has gone to be with the Lord. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife Alexandra, daughter Sandy (husband Jim), grandchildren, Mia, Robynn, Philip, Karyn (Kelly), and Pamela. He was predeceased by his parents, William and Agatha; brother Louis; and his daughter Catherine. A lifelong resident of Transcona, Joe graduated from Central School and served with the R.C.A.F. as ground crew personnel during the Second World War. This kind and gentle man and wonderful father, married, built his home, and raised his family while employed with the CNR until his retirement in 1976. He enjoyed life; curling, bowling, gardening and summers at the cottage. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to New Direction for Child Youth and Family (TMH), 400-491 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, R3B 2E4 or to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 102-310 Broadway, Winnipeg, R3C 0S6. Sincere thanks and appreciation to the dedicated doctors and nursing staff at Concordia Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted by Fr. Wencee Rebillaco on Wednesday, March 26 at 1:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. with viewing one-half hour prior to the service. Burial at the Transcona Cemetery.
